Campbellini (Corey Braden) captures the $9,000 featured trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (July 20).
BJ Lorado (Andy Santeramo) controlled all the early fractions (:27.0, :56.1, 1:25.1).
Campbellini ($14.60), who is trained by Rick Dane Jr. for owners Scott Dane, Wi liam Dane Jr., and Joanna Dane, followed in the pocket seat. As they made the turn for home Campbellini popped out of the pocket and battled BJ Lorado down the stretch. Campbellini wore him down to win in 1:55.0. BJ Lorado held on to settle for second. Warrawee Preferred (Jim Taggart Jr.) finished third.
Campbellini is a 5-year-old gelding by by Cantab Hall. It was his ninth win in 2019. He now has 13 career victories.
Wally Hennessey drove three winners on the night. Mike Merton and Corey Braden each had driving doubles. Hennessey got his wins with Dangerous Mood ($39.40), Celebrity Lover ($2.50), and Glamorgal ($7.30). Merton won with Baby I'm Worth It ($7.50), and Savin Rock $34.00. Braden's other win came with Miss Flora $14.80.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (July 21) with a 13 race card starting at 1:00 p.m.
