Fhld - POWER WHEEL POSTS VICTORY IN NJSS FINAL

MANALAPAN, NJ – October 4, 2012 – Power Wheel, making his third career start, posted a three-length victory in the $25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes-Green Acres Final for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Freehold Raceway.

The Muscles Yankee-Sprocket Hanover colt, bred and owned by John and Sarah Swart of Oakton, VA, trotted the mile in 2:03.4.

Jim Marshall III drove Power Wheel for trainer Gary Cameron II in the non-wagering event.  It was the trotter’s first victory. 

Marion Mayday by Chocolatier and Balanced Budget by Muscles Yankee both broke at the start and rallied to finish second and third, respectively.

Two $7,000 preliminary legs of the New Jersey Sire Stakes-Green Acres for two-year-old pacing fillies were also contested on Thursday at Freehold.

In the first division, carded prior to the betting program, David McDuffee’s Isle of Shoals by Rocknroll Hanover was a three-length winner in 2:00.3. 

The Nifty Norman trainee, driven by Cat Manzi, picked up her first win in nine tries.  She bested Flirty Filly by Western Ideal and Get The Look by Cam’s Card Shark.

In the second division, race one, Light Of Day by Rocknroll Hanover, coasted to her third straight victory in 1:59 flat with Pat Berry driving the Linda Toscano protégé.

Light Of Day now has finished first or second in all four career starts.  She races in the name of Blue Chip Bloodstock of Wallkill, NY; Stake Your Claim 20 of Secaucus, NJ and Camelot Stable of Freehold, NJ.

Fandemonium edged out Nominal Hanover for second money.  Both are daughters of Western Ideal.
