Mortal
Zin, driven by Yannick Gingras, and Verdad, handled by David Miller, faced off
last week in the $25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes – Green Acres Final.
Verdad, a son of Western Ideal, prevailed by a half length over Mortal Zin, who
is by Rocknroll Hanover.
Mortal
Zin, who has finished first or second in 10 of 16 starts this year, races in
the name of Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, Slaughter Racing Stable and
Larry Karr.
Verdad,
owned and bred by Howard Taylor and Judith Taylor, has finished in-the-money in
seven of 17 starts this year.
