Tioga Downs to host Geers Stakes on Friday.


Tioga Downs will feature the Geers Stakes for sophomore pacers on Friday (June 2).

The first of the Geers races will be for 3-year-old colts and geldings for a purse $73,000.

The Ron Burke trained entry of World On Edge (Corey Braden) and Warrawee Unique (Mike Merton) are the morning line even money favorites. 
World On Edge (Roll With Joe) has a win two second and two thirds so far this season.  Warrawee Unique (Sweet Lou) has a win this season and two career victories including a mark of 1:50.2 as a freshman.

The Erv Miller trained duo of Cole On The Beach (Aaron Byron) and Seafarer (Marcus Miller) are the second morning line choice at 4-1.  Cole On The Beach (Somebeachsomewhere) has a win, a second, and a third in six starts this season.
Seafarer (Captaintreacherous) has been razor sharp this season with three wins and three seconds in six starts,

In the first division of the Geers Stakes ($33,750) for 3-year-old fillies, the 9-5 morning line favorite is the Chris Ryder trained Abigail Dawn (Mark MacDonald).
The filly by Real Artist already has four wins in eight starts in 2019.

The second morning line choice at 5-2 is Alii Nui (Marcus Miller).  The Erv Miller trained filly by Captaintreacherous also owns four wins in eight starts this season.

In the second division ($33,750), the 2-1 morning line favorite is Rose Run Uptowngal.  Trained by Ron Burke, the filly by Dragon Again has reached the winner’s circle in three of her eight starts this season.

The Erv Miller entry of Rocknroll Annie (Marcus Miller) and Shes A Major Lady (Mark MacDonald) are at 7-2.
Rocknroll Annie (Rocknroll Dance) has two wins so far this season.  She’s A Major Lady (Art Major) has two seconds and a third in five career starts.

The Julie Miller trained As Time Goes By (Troy Beyer) is also a 7-2 morning line choice.  The Captaintreacherous filly has two wins to go along with eight seconds in 2019.

The Friday night 10 race card at Tioga downs will start at 6:15 p.m.
