Meadowlands to host 4th Annual Battle for the Best Burger on Saturday, June 8
The Meadowlands Racetrack is hosting its 4th Annual Battle for the Best Burger
on Saturday, June 8 in the East Apron of the Grandstand. The contest offers a
$1,500 grand prize with $1,000 for 2nd place and $500 for third. There is also
a $500 prize for People’s Choice.
This free event runs from 12 noon - 10 pm and fans are encouraged to come out
and taste some of the best local burgers. Two lucky fans will win a spot at the
Judging Table and help determine the top 3 burgers. Judging takes place at 4pm.
A full house of ten participants in this year’s Battle include: Little Bite of
Paradise, South + Pine American Eatery (2016 & 2018 Burger Battle
Champions), Spanky’s Gourmet Grub, The Mozzarella God, Magic Mike’s Smoked
Meats, Burgerstrasse, Jersey Roll, Tropical Juice Bar, 2 Guys Catering and
Carnival Concessions (2017 Burger Battle Champions).
Additional food and dessert options ranging from Italian ice to empanadas to
zeppoles to cupcakes will be provided by Empanada Guy, House of Cupcakes, The
Outslider, Chris Curbside Cravings, Delicious BBQ and Clydes Italian Ice.
“We look forward to the Burger Battle every year,” said Meadowlands General
Manager and COO Jason M. Settlemoir. “This event has continued to grow and
become one of our signature June events. I cannot wait to sample some of these
burgers!”
In addition to the Burger Battle, fans can watch and wager on the Belmont
Stakes.
Plus there is live harness racing action kicking off at 7:15 pm.
