East Rutherford, NJ - Racing action is back on Saturday night at The
Meadowlands with a dozen races programmed. High on the bill are three
G-Note divisions and a well matched group of ten contest the featured
seventh race with a myriad of angles to complicate the handicapping.
More than half the field in the feature are
returning from last week's race, they represent the second through
seventh place finishers who were separated by fewer than three lengths.
Alexie Mattosie , second in last week's race, seems to have found
the elusive fountain of youth as he continues to perform at a very high level
at age eleven and nears career start number 200. The gallant gelding stormed
home from well back for John Campbell to miss by just a nose last week in
1:50.4. He races from post position six on Saturday for trainer Nik Drennan and
his long time ownership group of Donald Lindsey, Paul W Kleinpaste, William V
Alempijevic and Dennis Mavrin.
It'll be no cakewalk with the always gritty Doctor Butch just
to his inside and the dangerous import Elrama N who was trip compromised from a
poor post last week and draws a comfortable three this week.
The Meadowlands is giving away a Big TV
for optimum Super Bowl watching on Sunday and if you don't win, don't despair,
you can come to Victory Sports Bar for the Super
Bash and watch on the giant 20 foot (that right, 20 foot) screens in the
bar.
It's all happening at The Meadowlands and starts at 7:15 p.m.
