HAMBURG, N.Y. --- It was a unique version of 'All In The
Family' for the McNeight crew on Saturday night (Feb. 25) at Buffalo Raceway as
driver David McNeight III drove three horses to victory which covered three
generations of his family.
In the third race, trainer David McNeight Jr. enjoyed
watching his son (David III) guide Sea Star to a $38.00 victory.
Lucky Millionaire ($12.80), who was driven and trained by
David III, captured the ninth race.
So with two generations now covered, there was a chance for
the unique trifecta in the 12th race as Spring Terror, trained by grandfather
David McNeight Sr. was entered with David III in the bike.
Sure enough, Spring Terror ($4.00) got up in the shadow of
the wire to score the half length win, giving the McNeights a unique
three-generation family hat trick.
McNeight III sits fourth in the Buffalo Raceway driver's
standings with 21 wins while David McNeight Jr. is in fourth place in the
trainer's rankings with 17 wins.
Racing resumes at Buffalo Raceway on Wednesday night at 5
p.m. with 12 races scheduled. There's a $2,347 carryover in the Pick-5 which
begins in the second race.
