East Rutherford, NJ - The Meadowlands will pick up Thursday live racing for
seven consecutive weeks beginning on January 26. In anticipation, the racing
department would like to outline what short series' and
various classes may be expected over the period of expanded live
racing.
First off, the box for Thursday, January
26 will close on Monday January 23 at 9:00 A.M.
The January 26 card will include a “G” note race for $7500
claiming pacers with a $12,500 final and an $8500 consolation if the
number of entries allow. There will also be a “G” note race for
n/w of $3500 trot optional $10,000 claimer with a $15,000 final and a $10,000
consolation with enough horses. A n/w of $3500 pace “G” note race for
Saturday, January 28 with the same purses as the trot.
Note: All of the above G-Note series will
be in a two leg and final format.
Racing Secretary Pete Koch anticipates getting horses racing
regularly each week during the period of 3 days a week racing
which continues through March 11.
