East Rutherford, NJ –
The last of the Triple Crown races, the Belmont Stakes, takes place on
Saturday, June 11 headlining a monster card that begins at 11:30 a.m. the
simulcast of which will have The Meadowlands abuzz all day, then segue
into the live racing program with first race post time of 7:15 p.m.
It’s a twelve race card
Saturday night at The Big M with a solid group of seven pacers set to go in the
featured sixth race. Odds On Equuleus has a reputation for speed, which driver
Jordan Stratton may employ early to get into the race from his
outside post.
The now six-year-old son of Art Major has a pair of 1:49.1 wins on the
season and gets welcome class relief here after a respectable showing in last
week’s 1:47 world record Open pace. Odds On Equuleus is trained in the Tony
Alagna barn for owner and breeder Dana Parham under his nom de course of Odds
On Racing.
The guaranteed
horizontal wagers are in place, led by the $50,000 promise of the Late Pick 4
beginning with the seventh race. Free program pages for that sequence
are available courtesy of Trackmaster. The last race Jackpot Hi-5 carryover is
now just shy of $250,000.
The Meadowlands has a
number of promotions scheduled to enhance the Belmont Day experience, including
the chance to win one of ten
$100 wagers on the race and the 1st Annual Wing
Bowl where ten lucky contestants will match their wing eating skills
in quest of the $500 top prize.
