YONKERS/FRANCE WIN, SHOW COMMINGLING BEGINS TUESDAY AFTERNOON

BY FRANK DRUCKER, Publicity Director, Empire City @ Yonkers Raceway

YONKERS, NY, Monday, May 23, 2016—Yonkers Raceway’s Tuesday afternoon (May 24) “French” trots feature the usual bigger fields and longer distances, but one more ingredient gets added into the mix…

...bigger pots.

Beginning with Tuesday’s last five races (7 through 11), commingling of the win and show pools between the North American and French-hubbed audiences takes place for all of Yonkers’ overseas-exported events throughout the season.

“We’re extremely pleased and grateful for all the work that was put in to make this happen,” Raceway COO Bob Galterio said. “We appreciate everyone’s support and invite fans to play into what are now going to be significantly larger pools.”

After Tuesday, the next scheduled “French” program is June 21 (Yonkers has its live racing hiatus from June 1-12, inclusive).
