- The next “Town Hall” focus group meeting to gather input from racing
industry participants will take place at Noon on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 in the
Saratoga Room of the Ocala Hilton Hotel, Ocala, Florida.
The Town Hall
meetings represent an effort by The Association of Racing Commissioners
International to unify the racing industry in the US and develop a consensus
path to improve the policing of the sport and advance uniform regulatory
policies.
A no-cost
preregistration is required for all who would like to participate.

Previous meetings
have been held at Santa Anita, Gulfstream, Keeneland, Lone Star Park, and
Remington Park.. The ARCI is also working with existing
organizations to conduct meetings and has held them in conjunction the
Organization of Racing Investigators as well as the “Mid-Atlantic Group” that
has effectively pursued uniform regulatory policies in their region.
Additional Town Hall
meetings are being planned in June for the Meadowlands, Belmont Park,
Harrington Raceway and Casino, and Arapahoe Park near Denver. July
meetings will be held at Emerald Downs, Del Mar, Prairie Meadows, and
Horseman’s Park. August meetings will take place at Canterbury
Park, Arlington Park, and Saratoga.
ARCI President Ed
Martin said that the sessions have been “informative, sometimes sparky, but
always productive”. “People speak their mind and sometimes very
bluntly, but that’s what we want.”
The ARCI effort is
comprised of public meetings, private group discussions, webinar
meetings. There will also be an online survey for those unable to
participate in person.
