Trade Martin, who won a
Grammy for his song “Peace To The World”, has written a new song about harness
racing, featuring Roosevelt Raceway. The song can be listened to at www.rrtrotting.com
The song was written for
the Roosevelt Raceway documentary that is currently in the production stage. It
is being produced by Trade Martin, Roosevelt Raceway book co-authors, Freddie
Hudson and Billy Haughton, along with Yonkers Raceway track photographer, Mike
Lizzi.
The documentaries
trailer/preview will be released shortly and an announcement will be
forthcoming. The goal of the documentary is to have it aired on the Public
Broadcast Service (PBS).
The Roosevelt Raceway
Documentary will tell the history of the racetrack from it's beginning until
it's closure. It tells the story of George Morton Levy who masterminded the
creation of the modern day sport of harness racing.
Trade Martin, along with
his Grammy winning song, has produced many movie scores, including “Hail to the
Chief”, “Made For Each Other”, and BB King's “Stormy Monday Blues”. He has also
been nominated for multiple Clio awards, including TWA's “Up Up and Away” and
Prudential's “Piece of the Rock”.
He has been associated
with music legends Carol King, Bobby Darin, Cher, Carol-Bayer Sager, Steven
Stills, Joan Baez, Bert Bacharach and many others.
Trade has been involved
with harness racing for over 40 years and is also working on a new song and
commercial for the Standardbred Retirement Foundation.
