YONKERS, NY, Saturday, May 3, 2014--Odds-on favorite Take
it Back Terry (George Brennan) was resilient and resurgent Saturday night,
winning Yonkers Raceway's $28,000 winners-over pace.
Away third from post position No. 2,
"Terry" saw Versado (Brian Sears) work around That Man of Mine (Jason
Bartlett). The former took over after a 27-second opening quarter before Take
it Back Terry set sail for the lead.
The one did get it, finding a :56.3
intermission before having a visitor in the form of RU Ready to Rock). The
interloper actually poked about a half-length in front by the 1:24.1
three-quarters, but "Terry" was not in a giving mood.
The fought back, getting the nod over both RU Ready to Rock and Versado in
a season's-best 1:52.3. RU Ready to
Rock did salvage second, with a cone-skimming Versado settling for third.
Four Starz Trace and That Man of Mine settled for the small change.
For Take it Back Terry, a 6-year-old Western Terror gelding co-owned (as
Burke Racing) by (trainer) Ron Burke, Weaver Bruscemi, Larry Karr and Phil
Collura, he returned $3 for his second (consecutive) win in five seasonal
starts The exacta paid $28.60, with the triple returning $57.
The Raceway's five-night-per-week live schedule continues, with first post
