East Rutherford, NJ - Another dozen pari-mutuel puzzlers are in store for the
horseplayer a day early with The Meadowlands racing live on Thursday and Friday
this week as a result of NY Jets football game on Saturday night at Met
Life stadium.
With East Coast racing
down to just a few tracks Every field is full to the brim, a condition that
will continue to benefit The Meadowlands and its faithful followers for
the foreseeable future.
There are seven trots
on Thursday's card and the featured sixth race has ten going forth in
quest of the winner's share of $13,000. A case could be made for any of the
contestants with Crosby's Clam Bake the tepid 3-1 choice on the morning
line despite his extreme outside draw.
Trainer Andy Federico
handles Meadows based trainer Randy Bendis stock when they come East and
is reunited with Crosby's Clam Bake. The pair enjoyed great success here
last winter, winning all the way up to the top class then taking two Open
trots in February. Crosby's Clam Bake is wrapping up a stellar campaign
with $123,945 made this year on the strength of nine wins from thirty six
seasonal starts, his 1:53.1 mark taken over the Jersey mile oval in late
October. Bendis shares ownership of this solid son of Kadabra with Jack Piatt
III and Tom Pollack. Jimmy Marohn, Jr has the assignment on Thursday.
