INTERNATIONAL TROT FEARSOME FIVESOME TAKE MANHATTAN

BY FRANK DRUCKER, Publicity Director, Empire City @ Yonkers Raceway

YONKERS, NY, Tuesday, October 11, 2016—Half of the 10 drivers scheduled to compete in Saturday afternoon’s million-dollar Yonkers International Trot were part of a well-attended Tuesday afternoon draw luncheon in midtown Manhattan.

The back portion of that unusual daily double was a trip to the 86th floor observation deck of the Empire State Building.

The accompanying photo features (l-r) Tuomas Korvenoja (Jonesy, Finland), Ake Svanstedt (Resolve, U-S), Yannick Gingras (Hannelore Hanover, U-S) and Brian Sears (Flanagan Memory, Canada).

John Campbell, driving Denmark’s Tano Bork, was at the draw but unable to join the others high above the city.

Again, post time for the rare Saturday program is 1:10 PM, with the featured Yonkers International Trot going as the sixth race (post time 3:20 PM).
