East Rutherford, NJ - Live racing returns to The Meadowlands in a big way this weekend with
Breeders Crown eliminations, a celebration of the track's 40th anniversary
and the fastest Standardbred in history competing in an overnight prep on
Friday.
Friday's card will have
four Breeders Crown elimination races, two each for the freshman filly trotters
and the Open mare pacers. The best from each division will endeavor to advance
to next week's finals.
As an added bonus Always
B Miki, now the fastest horse in the long history of Standardbred racing by
virtue of his epic 1:46 mile in Lexington a fortnight ago, will race in a
$25,000 Open pace as he prepares for next week's Breeders Crown.
On Saturday, The
Meadowlands will celebrate 40 years of great harness racing
by returning some of the track's favorite personalities for autographs and
a long-sleeved T-shirt giveaway.
The Saturday night card is comprised
of fourteen Breeders Crown elimination races with the sport's very finest
pointing for the finals offering nearly $6 million in purses and year-end
awards.
Racing fans will be
presented a number of dining options for
both this and next week's Breeders Crown races and should make reservations for next
week's finals sooner rather than later due to strong demand.
