YONKERS, NY, Wednesday, February 16,
2016—Three, $32,000 Open Handicaps and some dangling dollars are included in
Yonkers Raceway’s weekend.
Friday night’s weekly ladies’ pacing
feature (sixth race) finds Regil Elektra (Jason Bartlett, post 7) going after a
fourth win in six seasonal starts. The 6-year-old daughter of Mach Three is
already just one victory shy of 2015’s entire win total.
The returning Sell a Bit N (Jordan
Stratton, post 8) was banished to the far outside, despite not racing for money
since early December. The now-6-year-old down Under daughter of Julius Caesar
ended ’15 with five consecutive Open Handicap wins here.
Bye Bye Michelle (Pat Lachance, post 3) also makes her first purse try of 2016,
invading after a solid upstate season.
Friday’s Pick 5 begins with a carryover of
$1,949.57 (50-cent base wager, races 7 through 11).
Saturday night’s Open Handicap Trot (sixth
race) finds the first three finishers from two weeks ago (last Saturday night
was cancelled/weather) in the “persons” of Crazshana (Bartlett, post 8), Money
Maven (Brian Sears, post 2) and Red Hot Herbie (Dan Dube, post 7).
Home’n Dry (Stratton, post 3) has won both
of his seasonal starts against restricted foes, while Swishnflick (Mark
MacDonald, post 4) debuts after a six-figure 2015 season.
The week’s marquee pace (eighth race) is
led by the last two winners, Phil Your Boots (Tyler Buter, post 7) and Atta Boy
Dan (George Brennan, post 8).
Roland N Rock (Dube, post 2) has drilled
his last two sets of foes, while First Class Horse (Bartlett, post 4) and Bad
Boy Matt (MacDonald, post 6) invade from Alberta and Delaware, respectively.
Post time for both programs is 7:10 PM.
