By Shawn Wiles

On a beautiful summer like day with temperatures in the mid 80’s a fast track and a slight head wind, Crazy Wow and Habitat did not disappoint, and raced up to expectations, with each scoring impressive victories.

In the first division of Sire Stakes, Crazy Wow raced in his usual catch me if you can fashion scored a wire to wire victory in 1:56:4.  Fresh off 2 qualifiers at the Meadowlands, the son of Crazed never had an anxious moment.  Confidant driver Yannick Gingras sternly said in the winner’s circle afterwards “He was real good”

In the 4th race the Excelsior A division, Monticello favorite Hollywoods Thatway, benefited from a DQ from Eskimo Joe, who put in a few steps at the top of the lane and was declared the winner in 1:59:2, a new lifetime mark.

In the 8th race the winning combination of Ron Burke and Yannick Gingras took home their second win of the afternoon with Habitat in 1:56:3, Buen Casmino provided a scare at the top of the stretch when he shot out of the 2 hole and looked like he would go right on by Habitat, that was all the urging Habitat needed to step up his game to prevail, easily passing the look me in the eye test.

Team Gingras and Burke took home their 3rd win of the afternoon, scoring with Stoneham in 1:59:4 in the Excelsior A Division.

In the 10th race, Maestro Blue Chip took a new mark of 1:57 for Trainer – Driver Trond Smedshammer.  The Credit winner colt is owned by Purple Haze Stable

Other winners of the day included Desert Storm 2:01:3, Courts N Session, Royal Status 1:59:1, Azucar 1:59:4 & Military Blue 1:58:1
