CEE BEE YES BREEZES TO VICTORY IN HELEN SMITH TROT, EQUALING STAKES RECORD 1:56.2

By Carol Hodes for the SBOANJ

MANALAPAN, NJ – September 5, 2014 – Cee Bee Yes breezed to a length and a quarter victory, taking the $40,000 Helen Smith Trot in stakes record equaling time on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Freehold Raceway.

Cee Bee Yes’s 1:56.2 clocking matched Silver Credit’s time in the 2013 edition of the Helen Smith.  Both fillies are daughters of Muscles Yankee.

The Helen Smith is restricted to New Jersey-sired three-year-old filly trotters and is sponsored by the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey.

Driven by Steve Smith and trained by Julie Miller, Cee Bee Yes cleared to the lead past the quarter pole and maintained the advantage, crossing the wire ahead of Yoga [Muscles Yankee] and five and three-quarter lengths ahead of Mistressswithmuscle [Muscle Hill].  Cee Bee Yes, sent off as the 1-2 favorite, paid $3 to win.  There was no show wagering in the featured seventh race.

Cee Bee Yes, who also won the Lady Suffolk at Freehold in May, improved her record to three wins and two seconds in nine starts this year for earnings of $94,302 toward a two-year total of $293,182.

A $45,000 Harrisburg yearling purchase, Cee Bee Yes competes for owners Jason and Douglas Allen of Vincentown, NJ.
