Rebellious (Tyler Buter) captures the featured Open Handicap Pace ($12,000) at Tioga Downs on Sunday (June 2).
Rebellious ($4.90) took the lead before hitting the first quarter in :26.3. He continued to control the pace hitting the half in :55.2 and three-quarters in 1:23.3.
Rebellious, who is owned by Joel Warner and trainer Mike Deters, was joined in the stretch by Ideal Feeling (Wally Hennessey). The two would battle all the way down the stretch. Ideal Feeling came hard but Rebellious dug in and held on to win in 1:52.1. Ideal Feeling had to settle for second. Rockntouch (Mike Simons) finished third.
Rebellious is a 5-year-old gelding by Mach Three. It was his fourth win of 2019. He now has 23 career victories.
Tyler Buter drove three winners on the day. He teamed up again with trainer Mike Deters getting a win with Hulking ($18.60). His other win came with Tangled Mind ($28.60).
There is no racing at Tioga Downs on Friday (June 7) because of the Chubby Checker concert. Live racing returns on Saturday (June 8) starting at 6:15 p.m. There will be afternoon racing on both Sunday (June 9) and Monday (June 10) with a post time of 1 p.m.
