Saturday,
June 22nd it is “Wiener Take All” in Meadowlands Racetrack’s 2nd
Annual Wiener Dog Derby.
Close
to eighty pre-registered dachshunds will be competing for the $500 Grand Prize
in between the live horse races. Live racing kicks off at 7:15pm
There
are eight qualifying heats with the top canine from each heat advancing to the
final. The first qualifying heat is at 6:45pm. The Wiener Dog Derby Final
will take place on the racetrack after Race 8 at approximately 10:15pm.
This
event takes place in the racetrack’s Backyard and admission and parking are
free. Fans are encouraged to come out and cheer on their favorite hound.
It is a woofing good time for the entire family! Just remember only
participating dogs are allowed at the track, no spectator dogs permitted.
