Dave Little's Road the to the Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace Week 6

There were no changes to the top four, but there was some shuffling of the other six spots in the Week 6 edition of Dave Little's "Road to the Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace". With seven of the Top 10 set to go in Saturday night's North America Cup Eliminations at Woodbine Mohawk Park, they'll likely be some more shuffling next week.

1
Captain Crunch
($673,931 – 1:49.1)

S. Zeron, N. Johansson
3 Brothers Stables, Christina Takter, Rojan Stables, Caviart Farms
In the first of two North America Cup Eliminations at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, Crunch has drawn post 4 in Elim 1. Johansson: “He trained great Wednesday morning. All systems go. It’s good we have an inside post, it gives Scott (Zeron) options.”
Last Race: 5/26 – Phl – Pennsylvania Sire Stakes – 1st (1:49.2)
2
Bettor’s Wish
($452,056 – 1:51.1)

D. Dunn, C. Ryder
Chris Ryder, Bella Racing, Fair Island Farm, Kenneth Solomon

Rooney champion will take on Captain Crunch in Elim 1 from post 1. Ryder: “I trained him light on Tuesday. We have a tough division. He’s probably better off a helmet but I will leave all of that to Dexter (Dunn). He’s doing very well. Nothing bothers him.”
Last Race: 5/25 – YR – Rooney Final – 1st (1:51.4)
3
Workin Ona Mystery
($158,817 – 1:49.3)

T. Tetrick, B. Brown
Diamond Creek Racing, Stambaugh Leeman Stable, Alan Keith, Wingfield Brothers

Qualified at Hoosier on May 29 in 1:52.3 to get ready for the NA Cup, in which he’s drawn post 9 in Elim 2. Brown: “The trip will tell the tale and I’m not going to tell Timmy (Tetrick) what to do. I want to make the final, but it would be huge to win, so that we’d get to choose our post. You sure don’t want to draw the nine- or 10-hole next week.”
Last Race: 5/29 – HoP – Qualifier – 1st (1:52.3)
4
Hurrikane Emperor
($314,900 – 1:49.3)

D. Dube, J. McDermott
Jonathan Klee Racing, Kuhen Racing, Pegasis Investment Group, William Garofalo

Continued his domination of the New Jersey Sire Stakes by winning Friday night’s final at the Meadowlands by 17½ lengths in 1:53. Time for some real competition. He’s drawn post 3 in Elim 1 at The ‘Hawk. McDermott: “I trained him at Pocono Tuesday and he came out of it tremendous. He’s done everything I’ve asked of him. He’s an even-keeled horse. If his best is good enough, he’ll win. He’s the coolest horse in the world. Nothing phases him.”
Last Race: 5/31 – M1 – New Jersey Sire Stakes Final – 1st (1:53)
5
Air Force Hanover
($202,888 – 1:50.1)

Y. Gingras, B. Brown
Country Club Acres Inc.,
Joe Sbrocco, Richard M Lombardo,
W J Donovan

Rallied well to get third in the Rooney Final after winning his elimination the week before. He has drawn post 6 in what looks like an extremely deep Elim 1. Brown: “My owner told me that the 6 hole is the winningest at Mohawk but there’s always somebody leaving that you don’t expect. I’m just going to shut up and let Yannick (Gingras) do the driving.”
Last Race: 5/25 – YR – Rooney Final – 3rd (1:53)
6
Best In Show
($84,163 – 1:50.3)

B. McClure, L. Toscano
Richard P Young, Joanne Young,
Craig W Henderson

Finished second in a division of the Somebeachsomewhere to Tyga Hanover to get ready for the Cup, where he’s drawn post 2 in Elim 1. Toscano: “He raced super in the Somebeachsomewhere. He’s still a green colt. Stag Party took a run at him and my colt came back and beat him. Then, fresh legs popped out of the two hole to beat my colt. He’s right where I want him to be. Except (laughing), for the division we are in on Saturday.”
Last Race: 6/1 – WMP – Somebeachsomewhere – 2nd (1:52.2)
7
Bronx Seelster
($319,369 – 1:51.2)

T. Henry, W. McGean
Capers 3 Stable

Rallied through a final quarter of :27 to pick up a 4th-place check in the same SBSW division as Best In Show. He’ll depart from post 6 in Elim 2.
Last Race: 6/1 – WMP – Somebeachsomewhere – 4th (1:52.4)
8
Love Me Some Lou
($205,099 – 1:50.4)

D. Miller, T. Cancelliere
J. Cancelliere

Hasn’t been out since a second-place finish at the hands of Workin Ona Mystery after leaving quickly from post 8 and going an inside trip the rest of the way at Pocono three weeks ago. He is not in the NA Cup or any other race this week.
Last Race: 5/19 – PcD – Pennsylvania Sire Stakes – 2nd (1:50.3)
9
Reigning Deo
($271,413 – 1:54.1Q)

A. McCarthy, B. Pelling
Deo Volente Farms, Pelling Racing, Brian Gordon

Went a second-over trip on the way to a third-place finish in the New York Sire Stakes at Buffalo on Wednesday. He is not in the NA Cup. Pelling: “He was OK at Buffalo. He goes to better tracks now, so that will be a true test. He’s in next at Tioga in the NYSS on June 16.”
Last Race: 6/5 – BR – New York Sire Stakes – 3rd (1:54.4)
10
Blood Money
($397,244 – 1:50)

S. Zeron, N. Johansson
Diamond Creek Racing

This will be his final appearance in the Top 10, as The Cup and The Pace have now been removed from his dance card. Johansson: “He sustained a stress fracture in the Rooney, so he is going to be out for about six weeks. Dr. Hogan is confident he’ll make a full recovery, so next up for him will be the Kentucky Sire Stakes.”
Last Race: 5/25 – YR – Rooney Final – 5th (1:53.1)
