East Rutherford, NJ - The
Meadowlands returns to its prime time post time of 7:15 pm with an eleven race
program on the evening of Friday, March 23. This will remain the post time
throughout the balance of the meet with the exception of July 7 & 14 which
will both begin with an early post time.
It's trotters in the featured second
race with a familiar favorite in the ultra-consistent Opulent Yankee taking on
six rivals. Driver Andy Miller converted a perfect pocket trip to upset Gural
Hanover last week and will have to overcome the outside 7 post in here to
repeat. Julie Miller trains for Little E, LLC, Dave Stolz and Art Geiger.
There's a new face in the race this
week as Dekeyser makes his Meadowlands debut from post six for the combination
of owner Paul Lang and trainer Tom Fanning. The Ohio-bred Dekeyser won 15 of 24
and $123,365 last season in the Buckeye state, making the move into the Fanning
barn over the winter break. Brett Miller has the drive.
