HAMBURG, N.Y. --- The 12-race program at Buffalo Raceway on
Wednesday night (March 21) kept both the long shot and chalk players happy. A total
of seven races were won with win mutuels in the double digits while the other
five events went to the heavy favorite.
The longest price on the night went in the featured $7,700
mares pace with Voltina (John Cummings Jr.) scoring the 1-1/4 length decision
over Tymal Luckynpink in 1:56.3 over the fast track.
Other big prices went to A Weekend ($18.60), Cashco
($20.80), Henry's Way ($15.60), It Was An Honor ($12.60), Ruddy Rusty ($13.40)
and Krystal C ($10.80).
The drivers spread the wealth around also as Cummings Jr.
and Billy Davis Jr. each produced triples with James McNeight Jr. and Jim
Morrill Jr. getting two each.
Anthony Cummings and Jim McNeight each had two training
victories.
Racing will return on Saturday night at 6 p.m. with a 10-race
card scheduled. The World Harness Handicapping Challenge qualifier will be held
at Buffalo Raceway with $850 in cash prizes on the line. The winner will also
get a paid entry into the WHHC finals at the Meadowlands on Saturday, April 28.
