MANALAPAN,
NJ – October 11, 2013 – Cane Pace runner-up Word Power makes his next start in
the $41,125 New Jersey Futurity for three-year-old pacers, the featured seventh
race on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Freehold Raceway.
Driven
by George Brennan and trained by Larry Remmen, the son of Western Ideal has
been installed as the 6-5 morning line favorite and will leave from post five.
Word
Power finished a neck behind 2012 Pacer of the Year Captaintreacherous in the
$360,211 Cane on September 2 at Tioga Downs.
On
September 19, an interference break in a preliminary heat of the Little Brown
Jug cost him any hope of qualifying for the final. Word Power picked up
his fifth win of the year in a condition pace at Yonkers on October 1.
Unraced
at two, he has finished in-the-money in nine of 12 starts, banking $235,802 for
owner Bradley J. Grant of Milton, Ontario.
Rockaholic,
who won the New Jersey Sire Stakes-Green Acres Final for colts, and Certified
Ideal, who carries a four-race winning streak, including the Green Acres Final
for fillies, will be challenging Word Power. Rockaholic, a son of
Rocknroll Hanover, drew the rail and is 4-1 with Eric Abbatiello driving.
Certified Ideal, rated 5-1 in the morning line, will have Jim Pantaleano at the
lines from post four.
