Lola De Vie by Credit Winner
claimed the $39,900 first division, a non-wagering event, while Vida DeVie,
sired in New Jersey by Muscles Yankee, was a wire-to-wire winner in the $40,900
second division, carded as the third race. The Lady Suffolk is for
three-year-old trotting fillies.
Lola De Vie, who was a length
and a half winner with David Miller driving, covered the mile in 2:00.4,
besting Feather Your Nest by a length and a half and Caneel Hall by a length in
three quarters. It was her first win in two starts this year and improved
her record to three wins, one second and one third from 11 career starts.
The victory lifted Lola De
Vie’s career earnings to $70,229.
Joie De Vie, based in
Jobstown, NJ, was back in the winner’s circle with Vida De Vie, who trotted her
mile in 2:01.2 with Daniel Dube driving, finishing three lengths ahead of
Bouncing Bax. It was 14 ¼ lengths to Parlia Hanover in third.
Vida De Vie, who won the
$25,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Green Acres Final last October, improved her
career record to four wins, three seconds and one third from 15 starts.
This year, she has a win and a second in three tries.
Haul’n Fanny, the odds on favorite,
broke stride before the start and finished last in the field of six.
The Lady Suffolk stakes
record of 1:57.3 was established by Stacy Spice in 1996.
