“We’ve
worked out with the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association to let horsemen
drop off their checks and applications at the SBOANJ office at 64 Business
Route 33, Manalapan, NJ,” said Meadowlands Director of Racing Peter Koch.
Koch
is asking horsemen to fax their application to the Meadowlands Race Office
[201-460-4042] and then leave a hard copy of the application and the check
[$100 per nomination] at the SBOANJ office during business hours on
Tuesday. The SBOANJ office closes at 4:30 p.m.
“This
way, horsemen can save the drive to the Meadowlands and make the deadline,”
said Koch.
The
trio of late-closing series, which will be contested in June, are the Caramore,
the Flower Child and the Cathedra Dot Com.
Events
will be available for trotters, pacing mares and pacing horses and geldings who
have made a minimum of six starts at Freehold in 2013 or are classified as C-2
at the Meadowlands as of May 27. Winners of over $30,000 in 2013 are
ineligible.
There
will be two $10,000 legs and a $20,000 added final for each of the three series
throughout the month of June.
The
Caramore for pacing horses will be contested June 8, 15 and 22. The
Flower Child for trotters and the Cathedra Dot Come for pacing mares will both
be carded June 7, 14 and 21.
