SBOANJ - ALAGNA HARNESSES THREE NJSS WINNERS; TAKTER TAKES TWO

MANALAPAN, NJ – August 10, 2012 – Trainer Anthony Alagna harnessed three winners and Jimmy Takter sent out two winners of the eight divisions of New Jersey Sire Stakes action for two-year-olds on Friday night, August 10, 2012 at the Meadowlands Racetrack.

The Alagna-conditioned Sombodythatiustono, a daughter of Tell All, extended her unbeaten streak to three with a half-length tally over Sweetheart winner Jerseylicious [Western Ideal] in the $23,000 first race.  It was three and a half lengths to Miss Lauren [Cam’s Card Shark] in third. 

Sombodythatiustono, drive by Andy Miller, paced the mile in 1:53.2.  She races in the names of Alagna Racing LLC and Jodi Siamis of Marion, IA.

Alagna was back in the winner’s circle with another pacing filly, Authorize [Western Ideal], who was three and a quarter lengths better than Hilarious Hayley [Rocknroll Hanover] in the $23,500 fourth race division.  Ideal Ginny [Western Ideal] was four lengths back in third.  The mile was timed in 1:52.4.

Authorize, with Brian Sears driving, improved her record to three wins in six starts.  She is owned by Brittany Farms of Versailles, KY and the Brian Monieson Trust of Northbrook, IL.

In the $17,500 colts and geldings pace, the eighth race, Ron Pierce guided the Alagna trainee Wake Up Peter [Rocknroll Hanover] to a four and a quarter length tally in 1:52.2.  Don’t Ya Know [Western Ideal] was second best.  It was five and three-quarter lengths to Troon [Rocknroll Hanover] in third.

Wake Up Peter posted his first win in two tries for Louis Willinger of Louisville, KY, Eagles Soar Partners of Staten Island, NY, Alagna Racing LLC and Wake Up Peter Partners of Millstone, NJ.

The Takter winners were Rockin Amadeus [Rocknroll Hanover] in the $17,500 colts and geldings pace in the sixth and Corky [Muscles Yankee] in the $34,500 colts and geldings trot in the tenth.

Lothlorien’s Rockin Amadeus, driven by Yannick Gingras, paced his mile in 1:52 flat, finishing two and a half lengths up on Rocknmyjeans [Rocknroll Hanover].  It was two and three-quarter lengths to Emeritus Maximus [Rocknroll Hanover] in third.  Rockin Amadeus scored his first win in his second start.

Corky, second by a neck in the Peter Haughton Memorial, was a two-length winner in his New Jersey Sire Stakes division, finishing two lengths ahead of Deadliest Catch [Chocolatier] and three and three-quarters in front of King Muscles [Muscles Yankee].  He was clocked in a career best of 1:57.  David Miller was in the sulky for the ownership of Christina Takter of East Windsor, NJ and Toronto brothers John and Jim Fielding.  Corky now has two wins and four seconds in six starts.

Shared Past [Chocolatier] trotted her mile in 1:55.4, only a tick off the stakes record, in the $19,500 second race for fillies, finishing three and a half lengths ahead of Time To Kill [Muscles Yankee].  It was six and a half lengths to Find The Magic [Chocolatier] in third.

Shared Past, driven by Gingras and trained by Jonas Czernyson, now has one win, one second and one third in four starts.  She is owned by WJ Donovan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Lady Dynamite [Muscles Yankee] carried Gingras another New Jersey Sire Stakes victory in the third, a $19,500 trot for fillies, prevailing by a half-length over Vintage Oaks [Muscles Yankee].  Silver Credit [Muscles Yankee] was third by five lengths.

The Mark Harder-trained Lady Dynamite covered the mile in 1:57.3, posting her second win in two tries for the Chris Alexander Stables of Aurora, ON and Stephen Palermo of Brampton, ON.

Johny Rock [Rocknroll Hanover] stopped the clock in 1:52 in the fifth race, a $17,500 split for pacing colts, for driver Andy Miller and trainer John Butenschoen.  It was seven and a quarter back to Cyclone [Rocknroll Hanover] in second and 13 ½ to Edington [Rocknroll Hanover] in third. 

Johny Rock improved his record to three wins and two seconds in five starts.  He is owned by William Wiswell of Elkhorn, WI, Jean Goehlen of Aurora, IL and Eugene Schick of Elgin, IL.
