Upcoming Stakes Action: Ohio Sires Stakes racing will highlight Labor
Day weekend beginning Friday, August 31 when two-year-old filly pacers and
trotters square off. Then on Saturday,
September 1, the freshmen colt and gelding pacers and trotters take center
stage.
Both fillies and colts are racing in their fourth and final
leg of the 2012 Ohio Sires Stakes, their last chance to earn points to be
eligible to the Ohio Sires Stakes Championships. They will be held at Scioto Downs in Columbus
on Saturday, September 8, 2012.
Labor Day Happenings: There will be no live racing on Northfield’s
half-mile oval on Labor Day (September 3), but both day and night simulcasting
action will be in full swing. Northfield
Park opens at noon on Labor Day for patrons to wager on all of the top harness
and thoroughbred racetracks.
Labor Day is also Dollar Day at Northfield. Patrons can choose from hot dogs, soft
drinks, Miller Lite 12 oz. draft beers and much more on the dollar menu. Guests will also enjoy free parking,
admission and private TV carrels all day and night.
