Uncle Hanover captures Tioga Downs feature.


Uncle Hanover (Andy Santeramo) wins the Tioga Downs featured pace ($9,000) on Saturday (July 7).

Uncle Hanover ($11.80) led the field gate-to-wire (:28.2, :57.1, 1:26.0, 1:55.4).  Icanflylikeanangel (Corey Braden) followed in the pocket all the way to the middle of the stretch, he pulled from the pocket and went all out, but fell short and settled for second best.  Tropical Trice (Mike Merton) finished third.

Uncle Hanover is a 6-year-old gelding by Muscle Hill.  Owned By Probber Morse Racing LLC and Unity Stable while trained by Barry Probber.  He won for the fifth time this season and secured career win number 16.  Probber had a training double.  His other win was with Explosive Drama ($6.90).

Wygant Prince (Paul Minore) wins Billings Amateur race ($6,000).

Uriel Prince (Annie Stoebe) controlled all the early fractions (:28.0, :58.1, 1:27.0).

Wygant Prince ($25.40) , who is owned by Minore and trained by Taylor Gower, popped out of the pocket going around the final turn and held off a late charge from Aventure (Tony Ciuffetelli) to win in 1:57.3.  Aventure finished second best while Uriel held on for third.

Wygant Prince is an 11-year-old gelding by S J's Photo.  It was his sixth win of 2018 and his 37th career trip to the winner's circle.

Fern Paquet Jr. and Kyle DiBenedetto each won two races on the night.

Paquet Jr. won with Bashful Strike ($18.00) and Zoraze ($9.70).  DiBenedetto got his wins with Moolah Moolah ($23.80) and Explosive Drama ($6.90).

Tioga Downs returns to live racing with a 13 race card on Sunday (July 8) at 1:00 p.m.
