St. Patrick’s Weekend at Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment


Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day all weekend long with beer, music and food.  Live harness racing kicks off at 6:35pm both Friday & Saturday night.

On Friday, March 16 guests can enjoy the $29.95 Irish themed buffet in Pink.  Potato & leek soup, Irish soda bread, corned beer & cabbage and shepherd’s pie are menu highlights.  Homemade Stout cookies and chocolate cake with caramel sauce are a perfect sweet end to the night.

Saturday, March 17 features two dining options at the track.  There is a 5-course $49.95 River Horse Brewing Company Beer dinner in Pink Skybox Suites.  Executive Chef Dennis Sammarone has paired each River Horse beer with fantastic food, sure to tantalize the taste buds. Menu highlights include a hot pretzel & cheese fondue paired with River Horse Roly Poly Pils, fish & chips with River Horse Tripel Horse and baby back ribs paired with River Horse IPA.  The full menu is available at http://www.meadowlandsracetrack.com/dining/satmar17.html

Those wanting more Irish –themed fare can enjoy the $39.95 Pink St. Patrick’s buffet.  The menu features hand-carved prime rib, bangers & mash, corned beef & cabbage and shepherd’s pie.

In addition to live racing, fans are welcome to head into Victory Sports Bar on Saturday for live music with Enough Said.  Local residents and diehard jammers, Victor Nichols, Russell Nichols, Craig Just, Maryellen Butera Just, Domenic Maffei and Tom O'Rourke will undoubtedly prove entertaining with their diverse mix of classic tunes from the 60's-present and unique blend of musicianship. Tickets are $10 at the door.
