YONKERS ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR 2016 PETTICOAT, SAGAMORE HILL SERIES

YONKERS, NY, Monday, December 21, 2015—If you’re stuck looking for that perfect last-minute holiday gift, try a nomination fee.

 With its 2015 season done, Yonkers Raceway is open for 2016 business, beginning with accepting entrants for the Petticoat (girls) and Sagamore Hill (boys) Pacing Series.

 The popular events are for soon-to-be 3- and 4-year-olds who were non-winners of four races and/or $40,000 lifetime through this past Dec. 1.

 Nominations ($200) close Feb. 1, with the Petticoat and Sagamore Hill beginning the first weekend in March. Each of three preliminary legs go for $20,000 per race, with a pair of $50,000 (added) finals (plus consolations) set for March 28 and 29, respectively.

 Yonkers’ 2016 season is set to begin Thursday, Jan. 7, pending approval of the New York State Gaming Commission.
