WFD - Horsemen Aid Pat Bissett

London, December 8, 2012 -- The horse people of Ontario have demonstrated their generosity once again this holiday season.

On Saturday night, at The Raceway at The Western Fair District, a raffle draw was conducted for local horsemen Pat Bissett of Goderich who recently suffered a heart attack.
Bissett is a popular figure in the local racing community and has been a long time assistant in the Paul Taylor Stable.

Raffle tickets were sold over the past few weeks and the total raised for Bisset, to help offset expenses while he was in hospital, was more than $7,000.
The draw winners were: Darryl Laver 1stprize - $1,500, Ted McLean 2nd prize - $300 and Ryan Holliday 3rdprize - $200.

“We would like to thank everyone who was able to help out,” said The Raceway’s Racing and Gaming Manager, Ian Fleming.“Pat is a very well liked guy and I’m sure he’ll appreciate the support. He’s doing well and we look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.”
Fans are reminded that The Raceway will host a pair of special holiday cards this month, including the annual Boxing Day program on December 26 at 1:15 p.m. and the popular New Year’s program on December 31, which starts at 8:00 p.m.
