Putoneonnetformom, Franks Best Do Battle On Thursday At Cal Expo

The best rivalry on the grounds will be renewed at Cal Expo Thursday night (November 17) when Putoneonnetformom and Franks Best clash in the $4,500 trotting headliner.  From their last seven meetings, Franks Best has come away with four wins with Putoneonnetformom completed the exacta, while the latter has prevailed in three of those clashes with Franks Best settling for the second spot.

James Kennedy guides Putoneonnetformom
in Thursday's trotting feature at Cal Expo.

Putoneonnetformom is looking to even the score while making it three straight decisions over his arch rival.  The 7-year-old is owned and was bred by Jeff, Gerald and Diana Cimini with Rocky Stidham the conditioner and James Kennedy doing the honors.

Two back, the dark-hued trotter sat the pocket for a half, attacked turning for home and got there by a neck over Franks Best.  In their most recent meeting, Putoneonnetformom made every pole a winning one to prevail by a head and lowered his career standard to 1:57.2 in the process.

Franks Best is a 4-year-old homebred son of Armbro Scribe who is owned and trained by Bob Johnson with Lemoyne Svendsen once again doing the honors.  He set his mark of 1:57.1 when he won here on October 20, and has subsequently missed to his nemeses by a neck and a head in his last two trips to the post.

Completing the field are D Man, who leaves from the rail slot with Jim Lackey guiding; Shelby County, to be handled by Tony Succarotte; and Giles LS Hanover, who will have the services of Steve Wiseman. The feature will go as the second on a 10-race card.
