Tioga Downs will play host to a
special kind of racing on Sunday afternoon (June 23) as the camel and ostrich
races come to town for the second straight year. After last year’s
surprising huge success, Tioga Downs once again schedule for the return of one
of the most anticipated entertainment events of the year. Last year more than
3,400 people showed up to watch three ostriches and four camels race the length
of the stretch.
This year the ostrich race
featuring Dixie Chick, Big Bird, and Hen House Harry will take place after race
number four on the ten race card. The camels will take to the track after race
number eight with My Lovely Humps, Humpty Dumpty, Lawrence of Arabia, and Pepi
LePew going post ward in non-wagering events.

Sunday afternoon (June 23) begins at 1:30pm.
Vernon Downs will host the camel
and ostrich races on Friday night (June 21) after their fourth and eighth races
on the card. Post time for the Friday night racing program at Vernon Downs gets
underway at 6:45pm.
