14-year-olds sweep late double

By Mark Ratzky, publicity – Cal Expo Harness

There was a racing rarity at Cal Expo Friday evening as 14-year-old pacers Allamerican Solo and Blue Note accounted for the late double on the 11-race program.

Allamerican Solo is a son of Western Hanover who goes about his business for Edward Del Ponte Jr., takes his lessons from Earl Kennedy and was guided by James Kennedy. He came first over at the half and responded when it counted to prevail by a neck as the public choice.

Blue Note is a Little Steven mare who is owned and trained by Rick Cisco, was handled by Luke Plano and pushed her career bankroll over the $155,000 plateau with a coast-to-coast score while earning her fourth snapshot from 15 trips to the post on the season.

Racing continues at Cal Expo with Friday and Saturday night action through April 27.
