Tioga Downs to Host Tompkins-Geers Stakes on Friday


Tioga Downs will welcome six Tompkins-Geers Stakes races on Friday (June 29).  There will be three divisions for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings as well as three divisions for 3-year-old pacing fillies.

In the first division($24,900) for pacing colts and geldings, the morning line favorite at 5-2 is Shadow Cat (Corey Callahan).   Trained by John Butenscoen for owners William Wiswell, Jean Goehlen, and Eugene Schick, the 3-year-old gelding by Somebeachsomewhere, has one win , two seconds and two thirds this season.

The 5-2 morning line favorite for the second division ($24,900) featuring sophomore colts and geldings is Art Dancer (Jim Morrill Jr.).  The 3-year-old gelding by Rocknroll Dance is owned by Rick Phillips, VIP Internet Stable, and trainer Mark Harder.  Art Dancer is six for ten in 2018.

In the third division ($25,400) for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings the morning line favorite at 5-2 is Thinkbig Dreambig (Jimmy Takter).  Takter trains the 3-year-old colt by Bettor's Delight for owners J D Fielding, G N Anderberg, G C Falk, and Brixton Medical Inc.  Thinkbig Dreambig didn't race as a 2-year-old.  He is three for four with three straight wins as a sophomore pacer. 

In the first division ($23,500) for pacing 3-year-old fillies, the Ron Burke trained entry of Jewels Forreal (Matt Kakaley) and Python Blue Chip (Corey Callahan) is the 2-1 morning line favorite. 

Jewels Forreal (So Surreal) , who has five career victories is owned by Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.  Python Blue Chip (Roll With Joe) is three for fifteen in her career.   She is owned by Stable 45, Blue Chip Bloodstock, Ake Svanstedt and R. Smith.

Alidine Hanover (Marcus Miller) is the morning line top choice in the second division ($23,500) at 3-1.   Erv Miller trains the 3-year-old filly by Rocknroll Dance for owners Glenn Bechtel, Louis Willinger, and the Ervin Miller Stable.  She has three seconds and one third in her four starts as a sophomore filly.

The 5-2 morning line favorite in the final division for 3-year-old pacing fillies is Reign On Me (Jim Morrill Jr.).  The 3-year-old filly by Well Said had a great freshman season but is looking for her first win as a sophomore.  She is trained by R. Nifty Norman for owners Blue Chip Bloodstock Inc., and Jennifer Dalton Stable LLC.

The 14 race card on Friday (June 29) starts at 6:15 p.m.
