Nichols, NY - Eliminations for the 60th Cane Pace ($400,000e), the first jewel
in the Triple Crown of Pacing, will be raced on Sunday, August 24 at Tioga
Downs.
Entries must be declared with the Tioga Downs Racing Office no
later than 9:00am on the morning of Wednesday, August 20. Supplemental
declarations (at a cost of $35,000) are also due by that time.
It is interesting to note that supplemental entry (for those
horses not currently eligible) to The Little Brown Jug, second leg of the
"Crown", requires being the winner of the North America Cup,
Meadowlands Pace or Cane Pace.
The Cane final will be raced on Labor Day, Monday, September
1.
Also on the August 24 card is the second leg of the Kindergarten
Classic Series for freshman trotters.
