TRIO OF ORGANIZATIONS PURSUE PROGRAM TO ENHANCE NEW JERSEY-SIRED RACING

MANALAPAN, NJ – May 9, 2014 – The Meadowlands Racetrack, the New Jersey Sire Stakes program and the Standardbred Breeders & Owners Association of New Jersey are in negotiations to provide New Jersey-sired horses with more racing opportunities, featuring enhanced purse money.

“We are committed to supporting New Jersey’s breeding program and reward those who race New Jersey-sired horses,” said SBOANJ President Tom Luchento.  “We aren’t quite ready to release the details but this should improve the earnings potential of New Jersey-sired horses.  These three organizations are committed to the future of New Jersey-sired racing.”
