CKG Billings - BILLINGS DRIVERS TO DONATE TO THE VERNON DOWNS FOOD BANK FUNDRAISER

Among the things one can count upon from amateur drivers is that they willing to give help when needed.

Case in point: the Vernon Downs Food Bank Fundraiser.

On Saturday night (August 17), the date of the fundraiser the C.K.G. Billings Amateur Driving Series has two trots on the  card that evening and according to the Billings Series President Tony “the Capo” Verruso, the Billings drivers are helping out in this worthwhile endeavor.

“The Billings has decided to donate all the driver’s fees from that night to the Food Bank Fundraiser,” he said.” The purses for our two races will total $7,500, so our five-percent donation will be $375 and that will give them a good start on the way toward their goal.

“We appreciate the opportunity to race there and it’s only natural that we should help them in a time of need.”

Of the two Billings trots that night one will be a six horse field  to be presented  before the wagering card takes place at 6:45pm while the other, a nine horse field, will be the third race on the wagering program.

Besides  Verruso, former Vernon Downs Horsemen’s Association President, Lon “Deli Boy” Frocione, former Billings Series President Peter “the Past President” Gerry  along  with  current Billings Series VP Steve “You’re Never Too” Oldford will be among the drivers participating on Saturday night.
