$6 Million Harness Racing Championships
Set for Sat., Oct. 29 From Woodbine Racetrack
For the first time ever, all 12 Breeders Crown championship finals, offering $6.2 million in purses, will be staged in Canada at Woodbine Racetrack near Toronto, on Saturday evening.
A dozen races, for all age, gait and gender divisions will be held with a 6:30 post time.
The Score will televise a special three and three-quarter hour presentation across Canada, from 7:30 pm – 11:15 pm ET, and will provide live coverage for nine of the 12 Crown finals. The Score broadcast will also be carried live in the U.S. on MAVTV, available in the US on DISH Network (channel 361) and most major cable systems including Comcast, Time Warner NY, Cablevision, Verizon Fios, Charter and Brighthouse.
MAVTV will also replay the Score broadcast for the West Coast from 1:30am- 5:15am (Sun. Oct. 30) and air the broadcast two more times on Monday, Oct. 31 from 8:30am-12:15 eastern and from 2:00pm-5:15pm ET.
The Score show will be hosted by Chad Rozema and Dawn Lupul, with Renee Kierans in the winner circle, and colour and analysis provided by two of harness racing’s most unique characters: Bob "Hollywood" Heyden of The Meadowlands, and Post Time’s Heather Moffett.
The wagering menu is highlighted by early and late $100,000 guaranteed Pick-Four pools, races 4-7 and races 9-12. Both Pick-Fours carry a 20-cent minimum.
Equidia-TV of France will tape a 26-minute segment of Breeders Crown night, featuring the $600,000 Crown Trot. The best trotter in North America, San Pail, takes on French trotter Rapide Lebel and Swedish sensation Commander Crowe. There will be on-line wagering at several French outlets, despite the race occurring at roughly 3:00 a.m. in Europe.
TVG (Channel 402 on Dish Network) will feature the Breeders Crown races, with live coverage from Woodbine by Greg Blanchard, formerly of Woodbine TV and currently announcer and TV personality at Western Fair Raceway. TVG customers are eligible for a special Breeders Crown promotion along with the Bank of America Challenge Championship at Los Alamitos. Customers who bet $100 on each event get 1,000 Wager Reward points per event plus a 500 point bonus for betting both.
On Saturday morning, Sirius Satellite Radio will feature a Breeders Crown preview with wagering analysis provided by Darren Zoccali on the popular Down The Stretch show from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Sirius channel 93, XM channel 209.
The twelve race card will featured shared duties by a pair of talented Kens: Woodbine track announcer Ken Middleton and guest caller Meadowland Racetrack announcer Ken Warkentin.
One lucky fan will drive away in style after Woodbine’s Road To The Breeders Crown Dodge Ram Truck giveaway. Ballots to enter the Dodge RAM Giveaway can be found by the gift shop, programs desk or in the dining room at the Rexdale oval.
TwinSpires has included the Breeders Crown as part of their Hit It and Split It Pick 4 promotion, with 1,000,000 Twin Spires Club bonus point prize pool for each Pick 4. Hit one and get a share of 1,000,000 points or hit both and get two shares of 2,000,000 points.

The ‘I Love Canadian Harness Racing’ Fan Club will be onsite at Woodbine from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with the opportunity to meet some of the connections of super trotter San Pail. There will be limited edition San Pail buttons to the first 200 people to stop by wearing blue (No. 2, San Pail’s saddle pad colour).
