Foo Fighter N Cops Open at Monticello

Monticello, N.Y. – After being claimed three times in five starts, Foo Fighter N has found some consistency in barns and after enjoying a brief reprieve and two solid qualifying races, Foo Fighter N came back in top form to take the $8,400 Open Pace on Tuesday, July 6 in 1:54.4 - $5.20.

Leaving from post position 7, Bruce Aldrich hustled the eight-year-old son of American Ideal off the gate to get the lead and never looked back, taking the field past splits of 27.4, 57.1 1:25.4 to score by a neck in 1:54.3 over a fast closing Masterson (Brandon Parker) and Nui Ba Den N (Cory Stratton).

Foo Fighter N is owned by William Emmons of Farmingdale, NJ and is trained by Art Green. Foo Fighter N notched his third win of the season. Drivers Mike Merton and Bruce Aldrich Jr. each enjoyed a driving double on the card and rising star 21-year-old Braxten Boyd had one winner.

Bo Sowers leads all trainers with 64 wins, Gary Messenger with 51 and Laura Perino rounds out the top three with 32 winners from her barn.
