Winning Legends (Justin Huckabone) and Ideal Jimmy (Jody
Jamieson) capture the co-features at Tioga Downs Sunday (May 30).
Winning Legends ($7.00) breezes to an easy win in the
$9,000 Open Trot.
Creekside Pete (Corey Braden) got the first call but
Winning Legends takes control just before hitting the first quarter in
:28.0. I Got The Looks (Drew Monti) made
the first move coming first-over on the way to the half. Winning Legends reached the half first in
:57.4. As they went down the backstretch
Winning Legends shook off the challenge and led to three-quarters in 1:25.1.
As they made the turn for home Creekside Pete popped out of
the pocket and took to the chase but Winning Legends was too strong and won
easily in 1:54.3. Creekside Pete had to
settle for second. I got The Looks
finished third.
Winning Legends is a 6-year-old gelding by Winning
Mister. He is trained by Huckabone for
owner Jonathan Applebaum. It was his
third win of the season. He got career
victory number 18.
Ideal Jimmy ($7.90) charges late to take the $9,000 Open
Pace.
Ideal Jimmy went straight to lead. Rebellious (Wally Hennessey) came first-over
to take control just after Ideal Jimmy hit the first quarter first in
:27.1. Rebellious controlled the pace
with a :28.1 second quarter. He
quickened up the pace with a backside :27.1 third quarter. He hit three-quarters in 1:22.3.
As they headed to the stretch Ideal Jimmy pounced out of
the pocket and went right on by in deep stretch to win in a lifetime best of
1:50.1. Rebellious had to settle for
second money. Waimac Attack N (Michael
Merton) finished third best.
Ideal Jimmy is an 8-year-old gelding by Western Ideal. He is owned by D R Van Witzenburg and trained
by Erv Miller. Ideal Jimmy won for the
fourth time this season. He now has 29
career victories.
