Pick 5 wager had some old money and some new shooters.
A $4,751.30
carryover and a $15,000 guaranteed pool resulted in $22,253 of fresh
investments.
The sequence
proved rather formful until 18-1 shot Be Best (Brent Holland, $38.80) rallied
to win the concluding leg going away in 1:54.4.
The winning
combination of 6/3/1/1/5 returned $586.50 for every correct half-a-buck wager.
As a reminder,
Yonkers’ Pick 5 wager now encompasses races 5 through 9 nightly.
A night after Jim
Marohn Jr. won four races to begin the Raceway’s 2020 season, Jason Bartlett
did him one better, with five winners during the dozen-race card.
Note the Raceway’s
usual five-program-per-week schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and
Saturday) has returned, though with a new first post of 7:05 PM.
