Billings Series
Greenville, Ohio--With
an incredible comeback after break at the start, Nono Lindy rallied to score a
2:01 triumph for “Hot-Handed Jazmin” Arnold in a Midwest region Billings
trot over the swift double-oval at the Darke County, Ohio Fair on Wednesday, August 21.
Before starting from the
two-hole Arnold had to get her trotter back on gait and when she did the
talented miss found that Nono Lindy was some 15 lengths behind the leader,
Winbak Charles M and driver “Lawbook Larry” Farley, at the first stanza in
:29.4 with plenty of ground to make up. as the race progressed.
And make up they did.
Ms Arnold got her trotter
closer- six lengths behind Farley's charge at the half- in 1:00.0 half. Up the
backside Nono Lindy began to pick-up horses and got closer to the leader, but
still fourth on the outside at the three quarters in 1:31. And in the lane,
after a tough journey, Nono Lindy trotted to the lead and hung-on gamely to
rebuff a late charge by Massive Storm and driver Gregg “Fast Greggy” Kiedel. At
the wire the margin of victory was just a nose, and a short one at that. Third
place went to He's On A Mission driven by “Buckeye Kiara” Morgan.
Owned by Terrence Smith and
trained Herman Hegerman, Nono Lindy paid $11.00 for win.
