East Rutherford, NJ - The Meadowlands will host a dozen live races
on Saturday, November 11, the card composed of a compelling blend of emerging
stars and battle tested veterans.
Trainer Tony Alagna sends out a pair of talented, late-blooming
freshmen pacing colts in the second race with an eye trained on the upcoming
$350,000 Governor's Cup.
American History and Captain Deo both made their career debuts at
The Red Mile in late fall qualifiers and have quickly matured into potential
players in the division.
American History has been nothing short of sensational in a pair
of romps at Hoosier Park. After a remarkable 1:51.4 Lexington qualifier in his
very first outing, he coasted through a 1:52.2 maiden victory that was followed
by an easy as pie seven length stroll despite moving up a class. He's a
$150,000 Lexington sale graduate by American Ideal out of Perfect Touch owned
by the breeder Brittany Farms, Marvin Katz and American History Racing. Yannick
Gingras will drive from post seven.
Captain Deo, a Somebeachsomewhere from the great Worldly Beauty,
broke his maiden with a 1:52.4 Meadowlands win for driver Joe Bongiorno last
week, sprinting home in 26.4 with speed to spare. Tony owns the colt, who
leaves from post three, in partnership with Joe Sbrocco, In The Gym and Captain
Deo Partners who paid $90,000 for him last fall.
The card matures into a really good gambling
proposition as the evening wears on with top overnight classes for all
divisions, the various guaranteed Pick 4 and 5's and the exciting new Survivor
wager which begins in race 1.
Dining options are many with the scrumptious Pink
buffet, Trotters owner's club and Victory Sports Bar among the choices.
Post time on Saturday is 7:15 p.m.
