YONKERS, NY, Monday, January 6, 2013—In what could be a first, there’s a
“racing cancelled-polar vortex.” Yonkers Raceway has scrapped its live racing
program and all simulcasting for Tuesday (Jan. 7) due to the
bone-chilling temperatures in the greater New York area…among other places.
Live racing is scheduled to resume Thursday (Jan. 9), with the usual 7:10 PM
first post. Afternoon simulcasting is scheduled to resume Wednesday (Jan. 8).
Horsemen are advised
that the draw for Saturday's (Jan. 11) card shall be conducted as usual, with
the entry box closing at 4 PM. For more information, please contact the race
