Meadowlands Chili Cook-off this Saturday, September 25 with $4,750 in Prize Money

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – This Saturday, September 25^th is the Meadowlands Racetrack’s 6^th annual Chili Cook Off! This year’s cook off features Salsa, Homestyle Chili and Chili Verde categories.

 Grand prize winners will earn a spot in the International Chili Society’s 2022 Annual World Championship Chili Cook-off in their categories. Cooks can still register at https://www.chilicookoff.com/cookoffs/full/6302

 There are also cash prizes for the runners up in each category:

Home-style Chili:

* $1,000 Grand Prize plus a spot in the ICS's World Championship Home-style Chili Cook-off 

* $500 - 2nd
* $250 - 3rd 

 

 Chili Verde:

* $1,000 Grand Prize plus a spot in the ICS's World Championship Chili Verde Cook-off 

* $500 - 2nd
* $250 - 3rd 

The Salsa category makes a return to the official ICS World Championships after a brief hiatus. Grand prize is $500 in addition to winning a spot in the ICS’s World Championship.  The 2^nd place winner receives $250 while third place earns $100.

Racetrack guests are also welcome to be part of the fun.  They are encouraged to sample the chili and vote for their favorite.  The fan favorite cook will walk away with the $250 prize, 2^nd will receive $100 and third place $50.  Fan favorite voting begins 8 pm; voting tickets are available in the chili cook off area. 

As an added bonus, fans can enjoy live harness racing with first race post time at 6:20 pm.
