No Stopping Ellieonthemove At Buffalo Raceway

by Brian J. Mazurek, for Buffalo Raceway

HAMBURG, N.Y. --- Once Ellieonthemove got 'moving', there was no stopping her as she romped to a throttled down 1-3/4 length win over Laughing Emoji N in Buffalo Raceway's featured $9,000 Class A-Open Pace for the fillies and mares on Wednesday night (April 7).

With the field being trimmed down to five due to the scratch of Blue Bell Bonnie, Ellieonthemove was parked for most of the opening quarter as Yankee Secret tried to take some of the starch out of her.

That ploy didn't work as once Ellieonthemove ($3.50) got in gear, there was no looking back.

Grabbing the front end after an opening split of :28.2, driver Kevin Cummings and Ellieonthemove were never in danger after that as he guided her to fractions of :58.0 and 1:27.1, crossing the line in 1:56.1 over the fast track. Laughing Emoji N (David McNeight III) rallied late for the place position with Yankee Secret (Ray Fisher Jr.) taking third.

Owned by Sidney Easton and trained by Anthony Cummings, Ellieonthemove (Well Said-Ireneonthemove) is a 6-year-old mare that has now earned $17,316 this season and $110,564 lifetime. It was her fourth victory in 10 tries in 2021.

In the $7,200 Class B Pace for the ladies, Robintheatm (Jim Morrill Jr.) collected her fourth straight win by holding off Supreme Dumpling (Billy Davis Jr.) by a half length in 1:56.4.

Robintheatm ($9.30) is owned by Mike Torcello and conditioned by Gerry Sarama. The 9-year-old mare has now bankrolled $13,825 on the season and $167,162 in her career.

Keystone Apache ($4.40) went first over just before the half and cruised home from there in collecting a four length score in 1:59.3 over Barn Beast (Kevin Cummings) in the $7.200 Class B Trot.

Owned by Vogel & Wags Nags Stable, Team Rice Racing and Adelphia Bloodstock and trained by Maria Rice, it was the third decision in six attempts for Keystone Apache. The 6-year-old gelding has now produced $8,625 in winnings on the campaign and $232,367 lifetime.

Davis Jr. led the way with three victories in the sulky while Shawn McDonough and Morrill Jr. each collected a pair. Sarama, McDonough and Jim Graham each posted a pair of training wins.

Racing will continue on Saturday evening with a 12-race card scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
