Midnite Craze and Love Live Laugh win Vernon features.

 

idnite Craze (Ivan Davies) and Love Live Laugh (John McDonald) capture the $3,600  co-features at Vernon Downs on Friday (August 7).

Midnite Craze ($12.40) charges late to win the featured trot.

Warrawee Preferred (Leon Bailey) charged to front and easily led to the first quarter in a :26.3.  He used a :29.1 second quarter to hit the half first in :55.4.  As they headed to the final turn Frisky Joe (John MacDonald) sat in second with Midnite Craze seven lengths back in third.  Warrawee Preferred still had the lead as they hit three-quarters in 1:25.0.

As they Made the turn for home, Midnite Craze fought his way to the front and cruised to victory in 1:54.3.  Winning Princess (Jennifer Lappe) came flying late to finish second.  Frisky Joe finished third.

Midnite Craze is a 10-year-old gelding by Crazed.  He is owned by G. Richard Mason Jr. and trained by Davies.  It was his first win this season and his 34th career victory.

Love Live Laugh ($6.60) holds on to win the featured fillies & mares pace.

Love Live Laugh charged out to the front from her outside post and led to the first quarter in :27.0.  She would slow down the pace with a :30.3 second quarter to hit the half in :57.3.  One Hand Keg Stand (Josh Kinney) was the first to make a move going first-over.  She sputtered a little bit and couldn't get close.  Love Live Laugh went to three-quarters in 1:25.3.

The Band K (Brett Crawford) followed in the pocket the whole trip and made her move in mid-stretch and came charging at Love Live Laugh.  Love Live Laugh dug in and held on to win in a seasonal best of 1:52.4.  The Band K settled for second best.  One Hand Keg Stand held on for third.

Love Live Laugh is a a 10 year-old mare by Hi Ho Silverheel's.  She is owned by Diane Whittemore and trained by Marissa Chadbourne.  It was her fourth win this season and her 47th career trip to the winner's circle.

Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Saturday (August 8) with a 13-race card starting at 3 p.m.
